Some photos found

I have some photos from my art show. All the party food was really great. The proof of this is that most all of the photos are people shoving food in their mouths! (I only posted one) It was a magical evening  and couldn't have been more perferct. The show was at a gorgeous winery - gallery overlooking beautiful Seneca Lake. Music fantastic. Wine superb. There were over a hundred people there. AND I was driven there by three good looking single guys!

This was supposed to be a little one hour freeing up exercise for my class and instead ended up being 5 day, evenings, and nights. Done at last.

Painting day

What a great day I had today. Great walk out in the snow with my dear friend Sue and kee-ray-zee Kilala husky dog, worked on my class with Misty Mawn all the rest of the day, painted and posted a painting that 3 people commented on! Yes someone actually commented. I am not alone! I love this class. I feel like I've grown so much and it's only the beginning of week 2. And I even did the writing assignments. I also posted my first drawing on Flickr along with the painting above and the painting below. Jeez Ricky I feel good!

Where is January going?

This started out to be a self portrait but really doesn't look much like me.
Taking the snow doggie out for her walk (or should I say MY run) She thinks that I am a sled that she's pulling throughth the snow.

My Studio

I just couldn't give you a real impression of my studio with a photo so here is a little movie that I made. My old house is narrow and long with lots of small rooms. Everything in my studio area has to be compact and alot of it is movable. Unfortunately the front door is here so it makes it crowded when people come in the door. But it's what I've got and it's warm with the wood stove!

Update

My goal of writing something every day (or almost) has definitely flown the coop! Mostly because it takes quite a while to write and do the photos, etc. Then there are never any comments left. And I know people read my blog but when it's always zero comments, I feel like why bother, I have other work to do.

So enough of that. But please leave a comment! so I know someone is out there!

It's summer

Monday, the first day of summer the longest day of the year was a wonderful day. I am working on four paintings that will go together to become one. Each panel is long and narrow and represents a season. Kind of my own mythology is making up each one. I was working on winter. Each one will have it's own symbols: animals, birds, constellations, and a round object. So on the summer solstice, I started the summer one. Very exciting for me.

I finally chose a new camera and ordered it. It came today. It's amazingly great. Kilala and I went down to the lake so that she could swim and I took pictures and a movie! We also went on Monday and she swam and splashed and played as hard as she could for almost two hours. Just like a little kid. She was so incredibly happy. And where can you go to such a beautiful lake and there aren't any people? Wild and free!
