Halloween

These are some of my Halloween displays. Hard to photograph to be able to see things.

If you look closely at the little handmade halloween hutch you will see a crystal ball, eyeballs, spiders, and vintage looking pumpkins.

I found this fun idea on Pinterest and Zora and I made it. We definitely made a mess but great fun. She had a blast. She's three. We made ours pink with lots of glitter and eyeballs. I had found just a perfect size little black cauldron at the dollar store to put it in.

The Cardboard Dollhouse Begins

The Cardboard Dollhouse Begins - see the tutorial here.

You can see from the photos most of the tools that I used: scissors, utility knife, various squares, and plain old Elmer's glue

After the basic structure of the dollhouse is all glued together and papier mache add to cover the edges, I gave it an all over coat of gesso primer. I am sure any white paint would work fine also.

Cardboard Dollhouse

The Dollhouse is getting close to being finished. I have been working on furniture. There have been many times I have said " why didn't I just buy it"

Next working on the cardboard furniture:

Finally making some headway on the furniture for the dollhouse. The bedroom furniture is almost finished. The bed will have posters with some sort of canopy and the closet needs the doors painted. It has a tiny drawer in the bottom and so does the vanity which also needs a stool for it.

I have more photos to post tomorrow and some artwork but they are on the other computer so until tomorrow...

Doll house progress

This is what has been happening besides getting all my Easter listings finished for Vintage Lindy Lou on Etsy
Primer coat of paint
Close up of one of the rooms- circus pictures, crocheted rug and a little banner that is laying on the rug but will be on the wall. I found circus pictures, printed them to fit and then cut them out and mod podged them on the walls. I also did that with other rooms with different pictures. For one of the walls and the floors I scanned and printed patterned paper and also mod-podged over it.

Hope to be adding better photos showing the inside of the rooms

Vintage crochet

I saw a super cute poncho made from a daisy pattern like this one. The petals and in between areas were a beautiful turquoise and the centers were white.
It was quite stunning and definitely Springy.

testing on a very cold wintry almost spring Sunday

Hope you enjoy this trying something new to see if copying music from Youtube will play on my blog (or web site) I thought it would be inspiring for when I am working on my art journaling workshop - Embrace Yourself with Misty Mawn. Well as you can see it did not!

Here are a couple of journal backgrounds I did to be ready for the journal lessons.

This one of the lessons about writing and learning about yourself - going through each letter of the alphabet and choosing words that best describe yourself and positive /negative space with the art journal page. I started out with each letter being a negative adjective! so I had to work on looking at myself in a positive light or maybe what I would like to work towards being.

Today I will be working on the next lesson and I AM going to finish the papier mache and a base coat of paint on the  cardboard doll house.
